although there was a shortage of apples in michigan this year,
apple crisp became the staple desert this fall.
when life gives you apples, make apple crisp!
lets just say that i got really good at peeling apples this year.
so here is what to do:
..ingredients..
- 9x13 inch pan
- 10 cups off apples (mcintosh works best because it is a softer apple)
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 tbs all-purpose flour
- 1 tbs ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup of water
- 1 cup quick-cooking oats
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
..directions..
1. oven should be preheated to 350 degrees.
2. place the peeled and sliced apples in the pan. mix the white sugar, 1 tbs of flour, and ground cinnamon together separately, and sprinkle over apples. pour 1/2 cup of water evenly over apples.
3. combine the oats, 1 cup flour, 1 cup brown sugar, 1/4 tsp baking soda, 1/4 tsp baking powder, and 1/2 cup of melted butter together. mix well.
4. Bake for about 45 minutes.
enjoy the finished product :)
and after you have shared it with others, your pan should look a little bit like this:
hope your monday is a good one!
