i.life

usually my phone is what captures the little moments worth documenting each day. like our awesome shoes from bowling over the weekend, a healthy dose of fro-yo, and some guy who is a little cray cray for driving with the top down in 30 degree weather. this week will be super busy! work is busy with deadlines, i have to pack for the weekened, get my hair done, road trip to new jersey, plan and put on a bachelorette party, and celebrate my sisters marriage. BUT all in all, i am so super excited to see my family, its been since august! let the list's and planning begin!

im not sure i'll be back before next week, so if i'm not, have a great week and weekend!

change of attitude

whew. talk about an up close selfie. im usually not a fan of selfies...but maybe i was inspired by ALL of the selfies that were on my instagram feed today. okay, that wasnt my inspiration. my main point today is that i have been pretty negative about how i look lately. negative towards myself, and putting myself down for not trying to "improve myself". and feeling this way changes my attitude toward pretty much everything. when i lived on my own i ate a lot better than i do now, and i exercised more. ever since i moved i have started to get back on track a few times, for a few weeks at a time, but never quite gotten back to where i just feel better about myself and i feel more energized to take on each day. during my lunch today i took time to write down what i can do, one step at a time because i realized that each time i try to make a change, i bite off more than i can chew. i have a very busy couple of months ahead of me, and in order for me not to have some sort of break down from over doing things and jumping in head over heels, i made a plan. i need to get organized, start out by eating healthy two meals a day (which means i have to make my own meals), working out 3 times a week, and making sure i am always praying about it! my attitude is a big part of how i will motivate myself. and anyway...i gotta look AND feel good for that big important day coming up in june! i know this all may seem pretty vague but i wanted to share, because that is sometimes what this blogging thing is all about.

monday and laundry.

today...today i was really craving chick fil a. i should probably just open a franchise up here in MI, right? my fav fast food for sure.is it strange that i took pictures of doing laundry? thats what i'm doing today. i started a job in december that allows me to work from home and i absolutely LOVE that i can run laundry while i am working. now i dont have to wash clothes in my after-work/weekend free time! in other news, over the weekend i went to see safe haven...it was so good! it was definitely a little different from the book, but if they went exactly by the book it would have been a really long movie. SO, with that in mind, they did a good job of leaving it original enough with certain things changed for it to make sense as a movie. in all honesty, the movie made it seem a bit more similar to "sleeping with the enemy", a movie that came out a long time ago with sandra bullock. safe haven was better. obviously. we also continued our house hunt this weekend and let me just share a picture of one house that we walked though:
not only does this house look like a castle from the outside...it has plenty of "castle style" wood work on the inside. the inside was actually really nice, but i don't think i could ever get over that "curb appeal". I hope everyone else had a fantastic weekend!

friday's letters

dear blogpost title, why did it take me five times to type you out correctly? its only two words...clearly im struggling today. dear lady swerving next to me on the road, i don't agree with you that plucking your chin hairs while your driving in the car in a 55 mph zone is appropriate. yes, she almost ran me off the road while looking in the mirror. dear ice, im over you. i have slipped way too many times and fell on the many walks out to my car this week. dear sun, i am sooo soo glad that you are still out and about at 6pm! this is a sign of spring coming soon! dear house hunting, i am so excited, yet overwhelmed. so many decisions, so much responsibility, and so much potential! dear daisies, you will forever be my favorite flower.

love day

happy love day everyone! i love valentines day, and always have even when i was single, because i have a family who has always made this day special. growing up i would always have valentines from my grandparents and parents waiting for me when i got home from school, even into high school! my dad has always gotten me flowers, and this morning i got a text from him saying "happy valentines day. love you, dad." its the little things. this year i get to officially say that i am celebrating with the valentine that i will have for the rest of my life. hes a hottie too, so i cant complain!

i noticed on pinterest a while ago some pictures with heart shaped balloons and i just love them! i went back and pinned a few and none of the below pictures are mine, but i had to share them!

i hope you have a great valentines day, and even if you do not have a special someone to share it with, know that you are loved! although valentines day can seem like a stupid man made holiday to most people, we can still use it as a reminder to love others in our own life.  the ultimate gift of love is from our savior, sending his son for each of us. we were not only given the most amazing gift of love, but also commanded to show that love towards others. and that my friends, is a challenge that i need to take to heart. how do i show love to others each day?

simple weekend

this weekend was pretty laid back, and included a lot of quality time...which i love. kenny and i went to dinner on friday night, went food tasting and suit shopping for our wedding on saturday and did a little bit of house hunting yesterday via open houses and looking in windows of houses that are for sale (don't worry, they are vacant!). although we didn't really do too much, i feel like we got a lot accomplished. and ended our day yesterday with a drink date before the night service at church. i have termed it a drink date, rather than a coffee date because kenny gets tea, and i get coffee, therefore its not technically a coffee date. so that was pretty much my weekend: fun, relaxing, and successful. oh, and we also did play about 20 rounds of ping pong. even though i get my butt kicked every time, i guess i am getting better.

i'm planning to kick off this week with a good start and get a lot accomplished! taking this busy week by the horns!

friday's letters

dear "friday's letters", this is the first time you are featured on my blog! welcome, and i hope you stay a while! dear self timed photos, i think it may take a very long time before i get the hang of you. i may end up with a lot of pictures where i look like i'm doing "the robot" until my modeling skills improve. i'm no photographer. dear friday, i am SO glad your here! i absolutely love weekends these days. dear wedding planning, i promise i have a 'to-do' list written down, its just the 'getting done' part that needs to be worked on. dear february, you are going to go by really quick...like in lightening speed...i can already tell. you have already brought the most snow this winter so far, and now us michiganders are just trying to maneuver through it.

Photobucket

remember that time i took a jumping pic in the snow and ended up with a mouth full of scarf and not much air? yea...struggle fest. at least i got a wave in there! i hope every on has a super weekend, thanks for stopping by today!

winter bliss

i find myself a few times during the day just looking out the window from my "office". and by office i mean looking out into the backyard since i work from home most days. the snow has just looked like a painted picture. in the top picture, that is the bridge that goes over the stream behind the house, over to a little island that sits on a small lake. you can't really see the lake because it is frozen over and snow covered, but the stream still has life and just has a light ice covering. the bottom picture is sometimes entertainment! the bird feeder is usually packed everyday, not just with the birds above but bright birds too like robins and cardinals and blue jays. it's funny to see the birds drain the feeder in just a couple of hours! i guess not all birds fly south for the winter, huh? and these poor birds also frequently fly into the windows on the house. they must be attracted to the reflection from the snow...? i hope you all are having a lovely week!

selma vs. ashley

this post is geared more toward those bachelor watchers out there. has anyone noticed a huge resemblence between selma and ashley greene (a.k.a. alice from the twilight movies)? they look like they have to be sisters. if they aren't related, selma sure got lucky with a gorgeous doppelganger.  just look and see for yourselves:
ashley greene

hope you had a happy monday :)
